Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends Thursday down
Benchmark index loses around 236.8 points at close
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 12,727.06 points, down 1.83% day-on-day.
Starting the day at 12,911.44 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 236.81 points from Wednesday's close.
The lowest value of the index was 12,716.79, while the daily high was 12,978.43.
The market value of BIST 100 was around 12.4 trillion Turkish liras ($280 billion), with a trading volume of 130 billion liras ($2.94 billion).
Some 23 stocks on the index rose and 76 dropped, compared to the previous close.
Gold was $4,430 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $108 per barrel as of 7.05 pm local time (1605GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 44.3600, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 51.3395, and the British pound traded for 59.3325 liras.
