The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 72 irregular migrants Friday off the coast of Bodrum in the Aegean Sea province of Mugla.

A sailing boat carrying irregular migrants had its engine fail and was drifting, prompting a call for help. Coast Guard boats were dispatched in response, said the Turkish Coast Guard Command.

Teams made the rescue, including 22 children, from the boat.

One suspect on the boat was detained on allegations of human trafficking.

The migrants were sent to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
