Turkish foreign minister, UN relief chief meet in Ankara
Turkish Foreign Ministry says Hakan Fidan met with Tom Fletcher, who describes meeting as 'another strong exchange,' discussing 'plans to save 87m lives in 2026'

Türkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Wednesday met with Tom Fletcher, the UN's humanitarian chief, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
The meeting took place in Ankara, the ministry stated on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
"Another strong exchange with Foreign Minister @HakanFidan. Türkiye is a pivotal mediator across the region and beyond," Fletcher said on US social media company X.
He added: "We also discussed our plans to save 87m lives in 2026."
