EDIRNE (AA) - August 22, 2012 - Office of the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) stated that they would continue supporting Turkey for its works over providing protection to Syrians who fled their countries.
Metin Corabatir, spokesman for the UNCHR in Turkey, told AA that the number of Syrians who left the country and headed to neighbour countries are nearly 200 thousand.
Corabatir stressed that the number of Syrians in Turkey was 70 thousand and added, "Number of Syrians at neighbour countries reached 200 thousand. 70 thousand of them are in Turkey. This is an international matter of subject."
Corabatir said, "Turkey has been providing high standards of protection to the needed ones. The UNCHR will keep supporting Turkey's works over it."
