The Turkish Justice Ministry has been presented with the prestigious "United Nations Public Service Award" in two different categories.
The ministry's "SMS Information System" has been ranked the first in Western Asia in "Preventing and Combating Corruption in the Public Service" category, while its "National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP)" has been ranked the second in "Advancing Knowledge Management in Government" category in this year's awards, a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Turkey has been presented with such award for the first time, the statement noted, adding that the award ceremony would take place in New York on June 25.
UN Public Service Awards is the most prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service.
It rewards the creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions that lead to a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide. Through an annual competition, the UN Public Service Awards promotes the role, professionalism and visibility of public service.
