NEW YORK
72 countries, including Turkey, were joint presenters of the resolution voted at the UN General Assembly on Thursday and adopted unanimously.
Turkey's Permanent Representative at the UN, Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan presented the resolution to the UN General Assembly in a meeting that was also attended by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday.
The resolution adopted at the UN General Assembly on Thursday was the UN's second one on mediation.
Meanwhile, a United Nations Guidance for Effective Mediation will be introduced on September 27, 2012 at the Turkish House in New York.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is expected to attend the event on September 27.
