Turkish solider martyred in PKK terror attack
PKK terrorists attacked soldiers conducting counterterrorism operation in eastern Bitlis province

BITLIS, Turkey
A Turkish soldier was martyred and two others injured in an attack by PKK terrorists in the eastern Bitlis province on Monday, officials said.
A statement from the provincial governor's office said the terrorists opened fire on Turkish troops conducting a counterterrorism operation in the rural area of the village of Asagiyolak.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey as well as the U.S. and EU.
In its terror campaign against Turkey, which has lasted for more than three decades, over 40,000 people have been killed, including women and children.
