ISTANBUL (AA) - August 7, 2012 - Turkish Red Crescent will begin to help Muslims in Arakan region in Myanmar soon.
Red Crescent Director General Ahmet Lutfi Akar said Tuesday that the Turkish state received the required permissions in order to let entrance of Red Crescent relief in Myanmar, adding that Red Crescent reserved one million USD from its own funds for Rohingya Muslims in Arakan.
Red Crescent has initiated a campaign in order to help Rohingya Muslims, said Akar.
Noting that 30,000 people were living in two camps which were organized by the UN officially along Bangladeshi border, Akar said that people in those camps were relatively more comfortable because UN sent food assistance there.
The real problem is the people who are living out of these camps, said Akar, adding that Turkish Red Crescent would like to reach those people.
