Turkish dailies on Wednesday mainly covered the upcoming CHP visit to Egypt, a TV program covering Erdogan's life story, a missile test in the east Mediterranean Sea jointly conducted by Israel and the US, the possible military intervention in Syria, the Turkish National basketball team's match today with European Basketball Championships Euro Basket 2013 in Slovenia, and the new figures indicating the number of Syrian refugees and displaced people within Turkey.
- "Story of a Master Statesman"
Daily SABAH published "The mindset revolution too slow," quoting Erdogan as saying "we have made significant reforms because the mindset revolution has been lagging behind, the reflection of our reforms on Turkish society has been taken time," in the documentary "Story of a Master Statesman" which tells the life story of Turkish PM Erdogan and aired on Tuesday. The program, emphasizing Erdogan's humanitarian features, also included an animation depicting his days in prison.
Daily TURKIYE quoted Erdogan as confessing "l fell in love with Emine at first sight," during the TV program in which Erdogan shared his life story.
- Military intervention in Syria
Daily SABAH headlined "Not a bee-sting, a harsh slap," in deconstructing the meaning of Obama's statements, while quoting Obama as saying, "Assad deserved a tough kick," indicated that the retaliation against Syria would not be limited to launching some missiles.
Daily MILLIYET published "Intervention in Syria may cause chaos," quoting United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as saying "we have to both bear in mind the impacts of military intervention on political solution efforts and prevent more bloodshed".
- US-Israel missile test
Daily HABERTURK wrote "Costly missile test" referring to two ballistic missiles launched jointly by Israel and the US in the east Mediterranean Sea for trial purposes, and stated that those who had heard a missile launched had presumed that an operation on Damascus had started. Following that, oil and dollar prices increased while the Borsa index fell.
Daily ZAMAN also covered the missile test and stated "Israel and the US jointly held a missile test in the Mediterranean Sea," noting that after Russia detected the missile test, Israel announced that it had held the missile test jointly with the US.
- Euro Basket 2013
Daily VATAN published "The giants to take the stage," referring to the Turkey who will be playing at the European Basketball Championships 2013 in Slovenia. The European Basketball Championship Euro Basket 2013 hosted by Slovenia starts on Wednesday.
- "6 million Syrians feel homesick"
Daily CUMHURIYET published "6 million Syrians feel homesick," saying that over 2 million Syrian people had taken refuge in other countries due to the civil war and 4.25 million people inside the country had been displaced.
-Turkish main opposition party to visit Egypt
Daily STAR headlined "CHP found its match: Sisi," saying that Turkey's main opposition party the CHP, which had previously visited Assad who has killed his own people, now accepted the invitation of the Egyptian interim government assigned by Egyptian junta chief Sisi. The report added that two CHP officials will pay a courtesy visit to Cairo.
Daily AKSAM also titled "CHP going to pharaoh Sisi," saying the CHP will visit the Egyptian junta after having visited Assad. CHP deputy head Lagoglu and MP Osman Koruturk will pay a courtesy visit to Egypt from September 9 to 12.
Daily YENI SAFAK headlined "An appointment with Sisi," saying the CHP which had sent delegations to meet with butcher Assad will now pay a visit to the Egyptian junta.
