Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Monday "strongly" condemned Sunday's suicide attack in Pakistan that killed dozens of people and injured hundreds of others.
"We once again express our solidarity with our brotherly Pakistani people and our support to the government in its fight against terrorism", the ministry said in a written statement.
A suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowded park in the Pakistani city of Lahore on Sunday evening, leaving over 70 people dead and over 300 injured.
According to police, the bomber detonated his explosive-laden vest in a crowded area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, located in a northern district of Lahore, Pakistan’s second-largest city and the regional capital of Punjab province.
"The terror attack has targeted the peace, tranquility, and stability of Pakistan", the Turkish statement said.
Following the attack on Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also offered his condolences to the families of the victims, his Pakistani counterpart Mamnoon Hussain, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
"The attack, which took place at an amusement park packed with families, especially children, has revealed terror's face, which knows no limits or values", he said.
Jamaat ul-Ahrar, a group affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for Sunday’s bombing.
