Turkish forces nab suspect carrying counterfeit money

HATAY, Turkey

Turkish forces on Friday detained a suspect for carrying counterfeit banknotes totaling $156,000.

The gendarmerie command units in the southern province of Hatay nabbed the Syrian national, identified by the initials V.A., acting upon an intelligence tip off.

They were told that the suspect will take the bag of fake money from Syria to Konya, central Turkey in exchange of $10,000.

He was produced in court and released on bail.
