Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu conveyed to his US counterpart Hillary Rodham Clinton Turkey's concerns over a recent attack by Syrian army troops on a camp in southern Turkey that shelters Syrian civilians fleeing Assad regime's violence.
Davutoglu spoke on the phone to Clinton as part of his contacts with top diplomats of the UN Security Council member countries, briefing Clinton over latest situation in Syria.
Syrian forces fired Monday on civilians fleeing into a camp in Turkey's Kilis province near the border killing at least two Syrians and wounding 21 others.
The cross-border fire also hit the camp that sheltered Syrians and wounded four including a Turkish police officer.
Turkey reacted strongly to the incident, urging Syria to avoid aggression, warning that "necessary measures" would be taken if such an incident reoccurred.
