BEIJING
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday that Turkey would do what it could do under international laws in response to a recent border violation by Syria.
Speaking to reporters in Beijing, Erdogan said that there has clearly been a border violation by Syria.
We will make assessments in response to this border violation. Our foreign minister and I are conducting diplomacy with regional countries and will soon take the necessary steps, Erdogan stressed.
We will do what is the most right thing to do. You can clearly see how individuals are running away from Syria. They are running away from death. We can not shut down our doors to these people. If the doors are shut down, they will be toasted. Such a scenario is unacceptable, Erdogan underlined.
I do not believe Syria will find support in UN Council from now on, says PM Erdogan
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday said that he did not believe Syria would find support in the United Nations (UN) Security Council from now on as much as it did in the recent past.
Speaking to reporters at his hotel in Beijing, Erdogan said that justice would prevail in Syria sooner or later.
It is evident that there is great cruelty in Syria. One can not go on by committing cruelty. Justice will prevail in Syria sooner or later, Erdogan stressed.
I think that the UN Security Council needs to implement a new package on Syria. Necessary talks on the issue will take place. We will demand from the UN to take steps that it can take, Erdogan underlined.
We want death and bloodshed to end in Syria, says PM Erdogan
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday said that April 10 was the last day given to Syria by the joint United Nations and Arab League special envoy on Syria Kofi Annan to withdraw troops from cities.
Speaking to reporters at his hotel in Beijing, Erdogan said that Turkey wanted an end to death and bloodshed in Syria.
We have tried to talk to the Syrian administration on the incidents but they did not want to understand us, Erdogan stressed.
We hope to reach a result on Syria in the fastest way possible, Erdogan indicated.
Mr. Kofi Annan will visit Turkish provinces of Hatay and Kilis on Tuesday. With Annan's visit, we hope that the Syrian situation gets more attention, Erdogan also said.
