ANKARA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu spoke late Friday with US Secretary of the State John F. Kerry and with his Qatari counterpart Khalid bin Muhammad al-Atiyah on latest developments in Egypt.
According to diplomatic sources, Davutoglu held multiple phone conversations with Kerry and al-Atiyah to discuss escalating tension in Egypt.
Davutoglu's talks with counterparts evaluated possible steps that can be taken to defuse tensions with an eye to ensure that popular will and democratic legitimacy is respected.
