MUNICH
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said, they have to take place in each process where Turkey pays a price.
Speaking in a press conference after the 49th International Munich Security Conference on Sunday, Davutoglu talked about the nuclear negotiations between Germany, UN Security Council and Iran and said, "We have to be in each period where we pay a price."
Davutoglu said, "As I said it during my speech at the conference, I would like to say it here too that the UN Security Council has lost its reliability due to its decision making mechanism. Even though the topics of Mali and Syria are directly connected to the both African and Islam countries, in the decision making periods, Muslim and African countries are not in the P5 (five permanent members of UN Security Council). I said that except P5, neighboring and regional actors have to become active too as if they have the powers of P5, because they pay a price for it. We pay the price of Syria crisis. In this sense, I exactly meant it. When former Saudi Arabian ambassador El-Turki offered 5+2, I said, Turkey needed to be in it too, so I offered 5+3."
Davutoglu stressed, 5+3 frame was suitable and added, "This is, what it needs to be done. We have the right to be in decision mechanisms for what we have paid a price. We pay for most of the Iran's nuclear crisis because of energy politics and so on. That is why we put so much effort in it, to solve the crisis in 2010. We pay a price for Syria crisis too but we are not in the P5. This is not fair. African and Muslim countries pay the highest price for Mali crisis however they are not in the P5. This is not sustainable."
In the scope of the 49th International Munich Security Conference, Davutoglu came together with Vice President of the US Joe Biden and they discussed the topics of Iraq, Syria and Friday's suicide bomb blast in US Embassy in Ankara, Turkish fm said.
