Turkish classical singer Behiye Aksoy dies

ISTANBUL
Turkey's veteran singer Behiye Aksoy died at a private nursing home in Istanbul Sunday at the age of 82.
Aksoy will be laid to rest at Istanbul's Zincirlikuyu cemetery on Tuesday, June 2.
Her carrier in music started in 1948 when she won an internship at Ankara Radio.
After a successful carrier in Turkish classical music genre, Behiye Aksoy retired from music in 1980.
Aksoy also starred two films in 1967 and 1973.
In 2001, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Aksoy was presented a "golden tiara" award as a recognition of her successful art life.
