Former Director General of Al-Jazeera TV channel Waddaf Khanfar said that "Turkey's looking at the east and the south was crucial not only for Turkey's prosperity but also the stability in the Arab world".
Speaking at a conference titled "Media and Arab Awakening" at Istanbul's Bahcesehir University, Khanfar said that, while Turkey was not a model to be copied completely by the Arab world, it was an important source of inspiration.
