Turkey's Can Bonomo performed his first rehearsal in Baku on Wednesday in preparation for the 57th Eurovision Song Contest.
Bonomo's rehearsal with his song "Love Me Back" took place at the Crystal Hall as he was accompanied by five male dancers.
Can Bonomo also celebrated his birthday at the stage on Wednesday.
Reminded by a reporter during a press conference that Azerbaijani singers Nigar and Eldar came on to the stage with a Turkish flag after winning the 56th Eurovision Song Contest last year and if he would carry the Azerbaijani flag if he was to win the contest in 2012, Bonomo replied "yes, definitely. I will come on to the stage with the Azerbaijani flag".
Asked how tension between Turkey and Israel affected him as a Turkish citizen of Jewish background, Bonomo said that "I am an artist and a singer. I pay high attention to my career. There are nice individuals here from various nations. All I can tell you is that I am representing Turkey here in this international competition. I am very honored to represent Turkey".
Bonomo was born on May 16, 1987 in Izmir. He started his career by playing guitar at the age of eight. At the age of 17, he began his official career as a vocal productionist in Istanbul. Can went on with studying TV and cinema at the Istanbul Bilgi University.
