Turkey’s EU Affairs Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis received Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni Thursday in Istanbul.
“Yesterday was a historic day that Greece has opened a tourism office in Istanbul. I hope Turkey and Greece can turn this region into a peace zone through collaboration in tourism sector,” Bagis said before heading talks with Greek minister. Bagis wished success for Greece’s tourism office.
After Bagis’ remark, two ministers began to talk behind closed doors.
Turkish minister visited Athens last month to attend Mediterranean Luxury Travel Summit and held talks with Kefalogianni. During his Athens visit, Bagis also met with Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos and Defense Minister Dimitris Avramopulos.
