President Gul and Mexico's President held a signature ceremony for the agreements signed between the two countries after the inter-delegational meeting and a joint press conference.
Making a statement during the conference, the Turkish president expressed his pleasure for hosting President Nieto and the ministers in his delegation, adding a physically long distance existed between the two countries, but a diplomatic relation was established in 1928 whereas the bilateral relations had commenced 150 years ago during Ottoman Empire.
A visit at presidential level is taking place for the first time between the two countries, which has a key importance in historic sense, said the president during the Tuesday conference.
Reminding that top-level visits had occurred in recent period and he had hosted the foreign minister of United Mexican States twice, Gul also said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also visited Mexico twice due to G-20 meetings.

The two presidents signed "Strategic Cooperation and Partnership Frame for 21st Century" during the ceremony.
Among the attendants were Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Celik, Minister of Customs and Trade Hayati Yazici, Minister of Culture and Tourism Omer Celik and Finance Ministe Mehmet Simsek.
President of Mexico Enrique Pena Nieto arrived in Turkey on Sunday upon the invitation of Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
