Turkey has developed its first uncooled miniature infrared camera.
Turkish engineers of the Middle East Technical University (METU) produced the first uncooled miniature infrared camera with the support of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
Orders from abroad already set for the camera that has special abilities. When used in vehicles, camera will be able to stop the car when there will be a possibility to crash a pedestrian, when used in cell phones it will provide night sight and measure body temperature.
It will mostly be used in automotive, security, defense, aviation, medicine sectors.
Only two other companies in the world produce similar cameras but their price was 10 times more expensive compared to the Turkish version.
