Turkey has strongly condemned fighting in the west of Libya, which it claims is aimed at undermining an ongoing dialogue process being held in Morocco.
Troops backed by Libya's Tobruk-based parliament and government Friday launched airstrikes against several facilities in Tripoli.
The airstrikes triggered similar attacks by the Tripoli-backed Dawn of Libya militia on concentrations of Tripoli-backed troops in the western city of Zintan.
Despite the ongoing clashes, Libya's warring rivals are currently in Morocco to participate in UN-sponsored talks to solve their country's crisis.
"We welcome the progress registered to date within the framework of UN-facilitated dialogue process, which aims at bringing the sides together on common ground, thus re-establishing the integrity and stability of Libya," said the Turkish Foreign Ministry in a statement Monday.
Turkey also commended the parties who have contributed constructively to the process.
"We call on all sides in Libya to stop the attacks, achieve a cease-fire and remain committed to the dialogue process," the statement continued.
Libya has remained in a state of turmoil since a bloody uprising ended the decades-long rule of strongman Muammar Gaddafi in late 2011.
