ANKARA
Pillars of the state, headed by Turkey's President Abdullah Gul, laid a wreath on Ataturk's Mausoleum and observed a minute of silence.
Gul later signed Anitkabir Special Registry.
The Turkish president is also set to attend another ceremony at the Ataturk Culture Center (AKM) in Ankara and he will host a reception at the Cankaya Presidential Residence in the evening.
