VIENNA
Turkey's interior minister said on Friday that Turkey and Austria agreed to update security and cooperation agreement.
Idris Naim Sahin said the Austrian interior minister and he agreed to update current security and cooperation agreement.
"We expect to sign the agreement this year," Sahin told AA correspondent in Vienna, Austria.
Sahin said his Austrian counterpart and he discussed visa problems of Turkish citizens, and he asked for Austria's support for visa facilitation.
Moreover, Sahin met Turkish businessmen in Austria, and said Turkey was a source of hope for not only its own citizens but also for neighboring countries.
Sahin said Turkey was no more a country that had high debts to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
"We have little debt. We can repay it but we want to keep our account open and that's why we are not paying it back," Sahin said.
Sahin also said Turkish government aims to raise exports to 500 billion USD, national income per capita to 25,000 USD and include Turkey among the top ten giant economies in the world by 2023.
Minister Sahin is expected to return to Turkey on Friday after attending a student society meeting.
