TUNIS
Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki on Thursday received Anadolu Agency Board Chairman and Director General Kemal Ozturk in capital Tunis.
Speaking at the meeting, Marzouki said Turkey and Tunisia had deep rooted ties, adding that bilateral relations became stronger especially after the Tunisian revolution.
"Turkey's experiences are very important for us. We need to make Turkish and Tunisian experiences heard in the world in a proper way. And we need institutions such as Anadolu Agency to achieve that and you have that spirit and energy," Marzouki said.
Ozturk, on his part, said that Anadolu Agency had launched an Arabic department to set up a healthy and accurate communication between Turkey and the Arab world, adding that the agency had opened its office in Tunis which he said "ignited the most important democracy movement in North Africa."
As part of his foreign trips to promote Anadolu Agency's broadcast in Arabic, Ozturk previously visited Morocco earlier this week, and in May he travelled to Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
