BEIRUT
Lebanon's Al-Akhbar newspaper headlined "Turks entering Lebanon in the field of press is an event to be celebrated" over the inauguration of Anadolu Agency's Beirut office.
The inauguration of AA's Beirut office is covered widely in the Arabic media, especially in Lebanese newspapers.
Lebanese Information Minister Walid Daouq said, "AA's Beirut office brought back the media initiative and the trust on freedoms" upon AA's Beirut office coming into operation.
Anadolu Agency's Chairman of the Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk said, "AA will strengthen the relations between the Arab countries and Turkey with its publications and will also bring the people of these countries much closer" in his speech.
Lebanese newspaper Al-Mustaqbal also touched on the cooperation agreement between AA and Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).
Asharq Al-Awsat and Al-Hayat, among the most important Arabic newspapers, also published detailed articles in regards to AA's Beirut office.
