KABUL/ISTANBUL
The remaining four of the eight Turks, who had been held captive by Taliban in Afghanistan for over three weeks, were freed on Tuesday.
The first four were released earlier this week.
Taliban had captured eight Turks when their helicopter made an emergency landing in Logar province of Afghanistan on April 21.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahed said in an e-mail to media outlets on Tuesday that remaining four of eight Turkey were freed as "a goodwill gesture of Taliban."
"Taliban wants to develop good relations with the state and the people of Turkey. Remaining four of the eight Turks have been passed to officials," Mujahed said.
The first four of the captives, who were freed last Sunday, arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday.
"God bless our government and people. We were held captive for 23 days. We are glad that we are fine now," Milayim Celik told reporters.
Erkan Kaya said they did not know where they were held during their captivity in Afghanistan, adding, "Taliban did not treat us badly."
