KAHRAMANMARAS
A Syrian doctor Muzher Sellum, who served at a military hospital in Aleppo for many years, fled to Turkey after his village was bombarded by Syria's pro-regime forces that left some of his family members dead.
Residing in a tent city with his family in southern province Kahramanmaras for 2 months, Dr. Sellum told an Anadolu Agency correspondent that they waited for a while in Aleppo for the violence to stop but it mounted instead.
He said he had lost some of his relatives in the attacks, adding that he could not bear the fact that "[regime] troops I treated had killed his relatives."
He said he had left his position because he did not want to treat Assad's troops anymore.
Instead, he started treating wounded Free Syrian Army members and fled Turkey after his house was bombarded.
Sellum said they were not used to live in tents but Turkish officials had been making every effort they could in order to make them forget the bad days they experienced. He said his children were also attending a school in the tent city.
He said Syrian refugees that lost their loved ones and houses longed for good news from their hometown and they wished to be able to return one day.
