Obama told Gul that they had no doubt that the Syrian issue was an international problem.
Gul and Obama also discussed "Turkey-Israel relations" on Monday.
President Obama said that Turkey and Israel were two important allies of the United States and that the improvement in Turkish-Israeli relations would have a positive impact on the Arab Spring process.
On Israel, Gul said that Israel knew the steps they had to take and if they did take those steps, Turkey would act accordingly.
