Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said, "we support Turkey's EU membership process till the end. I see Turkey's accession to the EU as the process being completed in positivity and reality."
Within the scope of promoting investment and business cooperation opportunities between Turkey and Slovakia, "Turkish-Slovak Business Forum" was held by Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) in association with Turkish-Slovak Business Council. Slovakian Prime Minister Fico delivered a speech at the forum on Friday and stated that issues between Turkey and Slovakia were added into his agenda.
He said his businesspeople forwarded him the visa issue as well as the highway problems the Turkish trucks faced when they were en-route to Europe via Slovakia. He noted that solution offers for the issues would be covered at a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday afternoon.
Fico described the relations between Turkey and Slovakia as perfect and said, "we support each other in all platforms. Like beforehand, we will keep supporting Turkey's EU membership process. I see Turkey's EU accession as the process being completed positively and literally. Our trade volume increased incrementally and reciprocal in the past decade. We can set up a technology-based centre in Istanbul with all our cooperation."
