KILIS, Turkey
A second person injured in a rocket attack on Kilis, a city in southern Turkey that sits near the Syrian border, died late Tuesday, an official said.
Mehmet Hanifi Saglam, 45, died at Kilis State Hospital after being severely wounded when rockets hit the Ekrem Cetin neighborhood at around 9.45 a.m. local time (06.45GMT) Tuesday, Kilis Mayor Hasan Kara said.
Earlier, Mehmet Emin Onarici, 42, died at the same hospital. Six others were injured by two rockets believed to have been fired from Syria.
One rocket landed on wasteland but a second hit an apartment building.
In a second strike, three rockets fell on wasteland Wednesday morning.
Kilis province has been hit by a number of rockets fired from Syria in recent months. Four people were killed in January and March when rockets fired from the Bab region of Syria hit a school and a residential area.
On Monday, three rocket projectiles fired from Bab, a region under the control of Daesh, landed in Kilis, wounding 12.
