ANKARA
The number of motor vehicles registered in August in Turkey went down 18.5 percent when compared to the previous month.
In August, 91,193 motor vehicles were registered in Turkey bringing the total amount of motor vehicles in the country to 16,751,754.
Turkey's statistics authority, TurkStat, on Wednesday announced figures pertaining to motor vehicles in August 2012.
Among 91,193 motor vehicles registered in August, 45,132 were automobiles followed by motorcycles (21,693), vans (15,240) and tractors (3,231).
In the first eight months of 2012, 71,732 motor vehicles' registrations in Turkey were cancelled.
