"Incredible India" Road Show took place in Swissotel in Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday.
Indian Ambassador in Ankara Susmita Gongulee Thomas spoke at the opening of the event and said, "70,000 Indian tourists visit Turkey each year. We would like to see more Turkish visitors in India as the number of Turkish tourists in India is as low as 16-18 thousand."
Ministry of Tourism and Indian Embassy in Ankara organized an event, "Incredible India", based on the introduction of Indian tourism and culture.
From its dazzling sandy beaches to its rich culture, from its exotic cuisine to its history, India draws attention of many holidays makers.
State Tourism Authorities of Madhya Pradesh state which is situated in the middle of the country and called "Heart of India" and Andhra Pradesh state which is placed in the southeastern of the country, Tukoji Rao Puar and Vasant Kumar were promoted at the colourful event as well.
Indian Ambassador Thomas said that more holiday makers should consider exploring India and said, "Turkish Airlines as well as many other airways fly to India often. India offers a wide range of activities to do from riding elephants to skiing up in the mountains, from relaxing in Yoga villages to luxury train journeys."
"Incredible India" dance team presented Indian folk dances throughout the event, delicious Indian cuisine was on service for India enthusiasts and they held meetings for tourism sector representatives.
Alongside the Indian Ambassador Thomas, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh states' tourism ministers Kumar and Puar, attendees of the event were the Turkish officials from Foreign Ministry and Tourism Ministry of Turkey, Indian embassy officials, representatives of private trade and travel companies and representatives of many media organizations and many other guests.
The second event of "Incredible India" Road Show which aims to improve the cooperation and tourism between Turkey and India will take place in Istanbul on October 18.
