ANKARA (AA) - September 21, 2012 - Turkish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Breeding Mehmet Mehdi Eker said on Friday that, as part of the 'School Milk Project', they would continue distributing 200 millilitre boxes of milk to students in the 2012-2013 school year.
Eker hosted the Anadolu Agency's (AA) Director General and Executive Board Chairman Kemal Ozturk and AA news editors in his office in Ankara on Friday.
Speaking to the AA while meeting Ozturk and the AA delegation, Minister Eker stressed that milk boxes will also be distributed to private schools in the new education year.
The 'School Milk Project' is designed to contribute to the children's healthy diet, Eker underlined.
"We are conducting a survey about how frequently milk boxes may be distributed in a given week. We are holding talks with the Turkish Ministry of National Education on the issue," Eker noted.
"We have allocated around 120-130 million Turkish liras (TL) for the 'School Milk Project' in the new education year," Eker also said.
