Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Anadolu Agency brought a different richness with its photo exhibition in the 98th anniversary of Canakkale Sea Victory.
"Military Hearth-World of Turkish troops" photo exhibition by AA was opened in northwestern Canakkale province on Monday with participation of Erdogan, Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel, Board Chairman and Director General of the AA Kemal Ozturk, and other officials.
Erdogan expressed pleasure over AA's telling the world of Turkish soldiers by photos on the 98th anniversary of Canakkale Sea Victory.
Erdogan thanked AA for its efforts while preparing the exhibition.
AA's Director General Kemal Ozturk briefed Erdogan about the photos.
Gen. Ozel also thanked AA for its efforts, and asked AA to publish the album of the exhibition in English too, and also open the exhibition in military museum in Istanbul.
Besides Erdogan and Gen. Ozel, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, Minister of Youth and Sports Suat Kilic, Minister of Interior Muammer Guler, Minister of National Education Nabi Avci, Minister of National Defense Ismet Yilmaz, Minister of Forestry and Water Works Veysel Eroglu, Minister of Health Mehmet Muezzinoglu, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Hayri Kivrikoglu, Commander of Turkish Air Forces General Mehmet Erten, Commander of Naval Forces Admiral Murat Bilgel, Commander of the Turkish Gendarmery General Bekir Kalyoncu, Deputy Chief of Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar, several Turkish deputies and other dignitaries also attended the inauguration of the photo exhibition at the Canakkale Epic Introduction Center located as part of the Gallipoli Peninsula Historic National Park.
-Most comprehensive work-
AA took photographs of Turkish troops in 28 different locations, both in and out of Turkey, and worked on the project for two months with the contributions of the Turkish General Staff. An AA team of 60 members, including correspondents, photo journalists, and cameramen, took 35,000 photographs and recorded hours long of video which reflected the military dimension of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) as well as the humanistic qualities of the Turkish troops. AA's work displayed in a comprehensive way the Turkish troops' journey all the way from joining the TSK, to deployment, to social life, and to tough training. The natural behaviours of Turkish troops, including while shaving in the morning, sleeping, crying while hugging mom, and embracing children, were recorded by AA cameras.
-Most special frames shared with the public for first time-
AA published some of the frames which shed light to Turkish troops' world along with news stories. The most special 160 frames for the first time were shared with the public with an exhibition titled "Military Hearth-World of Turkish troops".
-Exhibition to remain open for a week-
The photographs at the exhibition were placed in different locations in the hall according to their subjects. Special light systems were used at the exhibition for the photographs. The exhibition will remain open for a week. Video clips shot by AA's cameramen can be viewed by the visitors on screens placed at the exhibition hall.
-Photograph album on sale-
190 frames shot as part of the "Military Hearth-World of Turkish troops" project have been compiled in a book and is now on sale. All income to be earned from the sale of the books will be donated to the TSK Mehmetcik Foundation.
