ISTANBUL
Istanbul police say they have discovered firearms and homemade explosive devices during an operation in Turkey's largest city.
The find was inside a stolen car parked in Istanbul's Maltepe district on Saturday, police said.
Teams from the city's anti-terror police unit found two bombs, two rifles, two handguns, six spare magazines plus a large amount of ammunition.
The stolen vehicle had been fitted with fake license plates. Masks were also found during the search.
No details of any arrests were provided.
An investigation has been launched.
