Iran said that it would make use of its good relations with the two countries in solving the problem between Turkey and Syria.
The Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mihmanperest answered questions of the Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent on the diplomatic situation between Turkey and Syria and the Turkish military jet downed by Syria last Friday.
This incident is a highly sensitive one. The problem must be solved through patience, dialogue and without acts that may negatively affect the region's security. We will make use of our good relations with the two countries in solving the problem between Turkey and Syria, Mihmanperest noted.
Reminding that the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi called on Turkey to act with restraint, Mihmanperest stated that they would follow-up on the matter.
The countries of the region must act with consciousness and patience so that instability and insecurity in the region are not pumped up, Mihmanperest also said.
