ANKARA
A bill, publicly known as the "fourth judicial package" was submitted to the Turkish parliament on Thursday.
The fourth judicial reform package, reportedly aims to strengthen democracy in Turkey, includes violations in the area of human rights, fair trial, expansion of boundaries of freedom of expression, and prevention of long detention and trial periods.
The package also covers freedom of press and is estimated to have an amendment on need for tangible evidence in court cases against media members.
Human rights form the backbone of the new package which would reportedly be a strong stand in front of the European Convention on Human Rights.
