Hungaria’s Minister of EU Affairs Eniko Gyori said, “Turkey’s extremely effective foreign policy, economic power, dynamism and being energy-transit country are utmostly important for the European Union (EU).”
Speaking at EU Istanbul Conference organized by Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs at Swiss Otel in Istanbul, Gyori referred to a Turkish expression meaning that if one has been offered a cup of Turkish coffee, he remembers the one who offered the coffee for forty years, and said, “Turkey and EU will mark 50th year of partnership agreement this year. I think this friendship should be a long-term commitment.”

Romania’s Minister for EU Funds Eugen Teodorovici said, “Despite the social, cultural and historical differences, we must consider Turkey’s role in the continent for our shared future.”
Teodorovici added, “Last two year’s developments showed Turkey’s importance for EU economy to sustain its competitiveness.”
