ANKARA
Turkish deputy prime minister has said that there was a business climate with low taxes in Turkey.
"Taxes in several developed countries are going to increase sooner or later. As budget deficit and public debt are in good shape, we have the luxury of keeping tax rates low for a long time in Turkey," Ali Babacan said at the 38th edition of The Ambrosetti Forum, an annual international economic conference, in Italy.
Babacan stated that despite economic downturn in 2009, Turkey made a significant progress during that term following financial consolidation programme.
Babacan also stated that Turkey had became a model for several countries around the world because of its impressive economic growth.
"We are sharing our knowledge and experience with the governments of Arab Spring countries. We firmly believe that a functioning example is much better than a prescription," he said.
Later, Ali Babacan left Italy for Turkey.
