Ataturk's adopted daughter dies in a traffic accident

KOCAELI

The adopted daughter of the founder of modern Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Ulku Adatepe lost her life on in a traffic accident at the Akyazi town of the north-western province of Sakarya.
Ulku Adatepe died at the scene of the accident while the driver of the automobile, Adnan Selcuk, and Emin Oke Adatepe were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Emin Oke Adatepe, has been taken into a surgery at the Sakarya Training and Research Hospital for a broken shoulder after a deadly traffic accident that left Ulku Adatepe dead.

Parliament Speaker Cicek issues message of condolence over Ataturk's daughter's death

Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek has issued a message of condolence over the death of Ulku Adatepe.
In his message, Cemil Cicek said that he was deeply saddened to learn about Adatepe's death.
I wish God's mercy to Adatepe, who carried the memory of the great leader Ataturk to this day, and offer my condolences to our nation, Cicek also said.

Ulku Adatepe was born on November 27, 1932. She was Ataturk's youngest adopted daughter. Adatepe lived with Ataturk at the Cankaya Presidential Palace until she was six years old. She was always seen with Ataturk during Ataturk's trips in all corners of Turkey and was a symbol of Ataturk's affection for children.
