TRABZON
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said a humanitarian tragedy unfolded everyday in Syria, adding that Turkey could not remain silent in the face of the Syrian regime's brutal crackdown on its people.
"It is impossible that we remain indifferent to this tragedy. Not only the Assad regime but any regime in the world that persecutes its own people is not an legitimate regime in our eyes," Davutoglu told reporters in a press conference in the Black Sea province of Trabzon.
Davutoglu said the dimensions of the crisis in Syria had grown to a point that greatly concerned everyone, adding that the regime's massacres continued without any sign of stoping.
