Anadolu Agency's (AA) Beirut office inaugurated with an official ceremony on Tuesday.
Lebanese Information Minister Walid Daouq, Ambassador of Republic of Turkey in Beirut Inan Ozyildiz, AA's Chairman of the Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk, AA board members, political party representatives in Lebanon, and chief editors of televisions and newspapers attended the opening ceremony held in the city center of Beirut.
Lebanese Information Minister Walid Daouq made a speech at the opening ceremony and stated that a new page opened in the relations between Turkey and Lebanon which he said was a significant development.
Turkish Ambassador in Beirut Inan Ozyildiz emphasized the importance of AA Arabic News Desk's Beirut Office as it would play a vital role in transferring news from Turkey to the region.
AA's Chairman of the Board and Director General Kemal Ozturk emphasized the importance of the inauguration of the Beirut office and said, "Anadolu Agency is among the ten largest agencies in the world. Each day we publish 1000 news, 1000 photos and 200 footage. Arabic publications are one of the most important projects of our Agency. The good relations between Turkey and Lebanon will be perfect with the works of AA."
An exhibition titled "Arab Awakening" was also organized as part of the inauguration ceremony where change in the Arabic world was portrayed from the perspective of AA photo correspondents.
Ottoman stamps exhibition in Lebanon
An exhibition on Ottoman stamps was inaugurated at Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Center in Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday.
Turkish Ambassador in Beirut Suleyman Inan Ozyildiz, Kemal Ozturk and Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Center Director Cengiz Eroglu opened the exhibition.
Sefik Talip, organizer of the exhibition, told the AA that stamps were an important indication of a common history between Turkey and Arab countries.
