Anadolu Agency's News Academy launched its first course of “New Generation Journalism Training” certificate program on Monday.
The Agency's Board Chairman and Director General Senol Kazanci congratulated the participants of the program and said that 59 out of the 700 applicants earned their right to attend the program.
In his remarks about the program, Kazanci said: "A total of 160-hours of theoretical and practical lessons will be given in the first month".
The director general said that in the second month, the courses would be given at the agency's headquarters in Ankara and the regional directorates across the country.
Participants in the two-month long program will receive training in writing, news and interviewing, with a view to gathering exclusive news, as well as training in shooting photographs and videos at the News Academy.
Kazanci advised the trainees "to earnestly follow all the courses".
"Come here everyday for two months as if your own kid or lover or friend or mother or father or whoever is here," he said.
The two-month program will end on November 20.
Upon completing the program, the participants will be given a “Certificate of Achievement/Participation”.
The News Academy was established as part of the agency’s centennial goals for 2020. It has been holding seminars and certificate programs for the past three years.
