ANKARA
Anadolu Agency's (AA) third term war correspondent training program continues in cooperation with the Turkish Police Academy in Ankara.
Training on vehicle security and advanced driving techniques have shown the crucial role of seat belts in saving lives.
The participants of the training program on Sunday were divided into two groups at the Turkish Police complex in Golbasi town of Ankara province. Students were placed in pairs in a vehicle which could turn around 360 degrees. A video camera was placed at the front of the vehicle so the students could later watch their experiences on screen. Students experienced the overturning of a vehicle travelling at 5 kilometers per hour first without seat belts and later with seat belts.
-Scenario of intervention in an illegal rally-
Participants were provided training in behaviour during social events and in using armored vests, helmets and gas masks.
Participants joined special police forces while they intervened in an illegal rally following theoretical lessons. During the scenario, police vehicle "TOMA" applied pressurized water on the participants. Special police forces also used smoke bomb and pepper spray on the participants.
The third term war correspondent training program will end with a ceremony on Friday. The participants will receive certificates valid internationally.
22 AA personnel from within and out of Turkey are participating in the training.
