ALEPPO
An Anadolu Agency (AA) team of reporters was able to enter the Seyfuddevle neighborhood of Aleppo where intense clashes have been taking place between Assad forces and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) for the past one and a half months.
Speaking to the AA team accompanied by "Der'al Vefa" brigades, a commander, Abu Muhammad al-Idlibi, stressed that the Seyfuddevle neighborhood was the scene of some intense clashes in the past one and half months.
"The Syrian army uses civilians as bait against the FSA," al-Idlibi stressed.
"A large number of FSA forces were killed by the Syrian army as they were trying to recover the bodies of civilians shot and killed by Syrian sharpshooters," al-Idlibi noted.
"We can not recover the corpses due to fire opened by sharpshooters. Some of the corpses have been on the streets for weeks and are about to be decomposed," al-Idlibi stated.
"The morale of the Syrian army is very low. There is a high number of troops planning to defect from the Syrian army but they can not dare to do so as they are being followed closely," al-Idlibi underlined.
On the other hand, a member of the FSA called on Syrian troops a few meters away to "think again what you are doing and stop killing innocent civilians" while the AA's video camera was shooting images.
