ANKARA
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has said, "Anadolu Agecy (AA) makes us proud with its latest performance."
Arinc, replied the questions about the establishments' budgets which are under his supervision and assessed the criticism of MPs in a meeting in Ankara.
Arinc highlighted the expectations from government which were discussed, however there were nothing talked about media bosses.
He said, "journalists are in pain because of the law no. 212 and this is not caused by us, it is the fault of media bosses. I state that I know there are people who bid million dollars in tenders and then don't pay for their employees for six months."
"Journalists thank me and say, "you talked and two months of our salary was paid, talk again and the rest will be paid too." However, you say it too, a journalist who is kicked to the curb will not have any freedom. We did not let that happen in Anadolu Agency. There was only one labour union. You can criticise me over what I think about that union, however I was proud of having two labour unions in AA. Because in any other newspapers and televisions, there are not even any single union. Because, media bosses say, "if you join a union, you'll have no work and no salary; you will be standing at the door"," said Arinc.
