Chief of Turkish General Staff, Gen. Necdet Ozel observed a major security operation taking place in Semdinli town of the south-eastern province of Hakkari.
In a statement posted on their web site, the Turkish General Staff said that General Ozel came to the town with Land and Air Force commanders and received information on the security operation taking place in the region on Thursday.
Seven battalions are involved in Thursday's operation at Semdinli.
