Erdogan offers condolences to Merkel for mother's death

ANKARA

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday offered condolences to German Chancellor Angela Merkel for her mother's death.

Erdogan conveyed his condolences in a telephone call in which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations.

Herlind Kasner died Thursday at the age of 90.
