MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan
Three Afghan soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing in northern Afghanistan on Monday, an Afghan spokesman has said.
A suicide bomber blew himself up near a military vehicle in Dahdadi district in northern Balkh province, Munir Ahmad Farahat told Anadolu Agency.
"Eighteen people were also injured, including three women," he said.
Monday's attack was swiftly claimed by the Taliban.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that around 30 soldiers had been killed and injured in the bombing.
Mazar-i- Sharif city, on the border with Uzbekistan, is a relatively peaceful commercial city in northern Afghanistan.
